Looking back now, the entire premise feels not just tragic, but profoundly misdirected.

Fast forward to today, and the global landscape isn’t noticeably safer from religiously inspired terrorism. If anything, the endless iterations of the American-led "global war on terror" proved to be a masterclass in futility.
