At least 54 killed by an explosion of a gas station in Syria

At least 54 people have died and dozens were injured Thursday in an explosion that occurred because of an air strike against a Syrian army gas station in the town of Ain Isa, in the province of Al Raqqa (northern Syria ), as reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. According to the organization, which is based in the UK but has a network of activists in Syria, an activist in this area has been estimated at more than 110 victims, including dead and wounded. A video released by some activists from Al Raqqa presumably shows a strong black smoke above the remains of the gas station and several locals baffled by reviewing the results of the attack. Unable to check this video, or access to the area because of the restrictions on the international media. The attack occurred a day after the insurgents took control of a border crossing with Turkey, located about 30 kilometers north of Al Raqqa, in the same province. The forces of the regime of Bashar al Assad bombed in the past other gas stations in rural towns and villages, as well as some major roads, in order to deprive the rebels fuel.
