Police investigating the mysterious death of the wife of millionaire


Scotland Yard is investigating the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Eva Kemeny, the wife of a wealthy heir to the Tetra Pak packaging industry, Hans Kristian Rausing, who formed a couple known for their drug problems. On Wednesday, the heir to 49 years received medical treatment, waiting to be interrogated after being arrested by police. Scotland Yard said it will continue with the investigation into the death "still unexplained", but did not confirm the identity of the principal witness. However, the press says it is Hans Kristian Rausing. Rausing was arrested Monday for possession of drugs, and frisk the couple's luxury home in Chelsea, upscale neighborhood of London, the police discovered the body of his wife Eva, 48 years. An autopsy performed on Tuesday did not produce conclusive results, and new tests should be performed to determine the cause of his death, according to British press. Of American nationality, and the elegant blonde woman with blue eyes, mother of four teenagers, was known to struggle with drugs. In 2008, she was arrested while trying to enter the U.S. embassy in London with 10 grams of crack, heroin and 2.5 grams of an illegal stimulant used as an inhibitor of hunger. Police also found drugs in his home, including 52 grams of cocaine, which led to indictments of the couple. But the charges were dropped and the pair received only a warning. At the time, Eva Rausing regretted having committed "a grave mistake and for taking the wrong path," and thanked his family for their support. "We hope with all our hearts that Hans K and Eva can overcome their dependency. We will continue to do what we can to help them," said the Rausing family. After the announcement of his death, parents and relatives of Eva Rausing expressed "deep sorrow", praising his "courageous struggle against the longstanding problems of health" and its commitment to charitable organizations. Daughter of a senior officer of PepsiCo, Eva Kemeny met Hans Rausing in a U.S. rehab clinic, shortly before marrying him in 1980. The couple, rich and well connected, famous settled in Cadogan Place, Chelsea, in a huge five-storey Georgian mansion worth 5 million pounds (6.3 million), but spent periods in another luxury residence in Barbados. The Rausings funded several organizations to help drug users. One, Action on Addiction, said he was devastated by the announcement of his death, praising the "generous support" of Eva Rausing, who was also a member of the charity Prince Charles. Hans Kristian Rausing is one of three children of Hans Rausing, the son of the founder of the Swedish industrial giant Tetra Pak. His father's fortune is estimated at 4.3 billion pounds (5.4 billion euros), according to Rich List of the Sunday Times this year. His grandfather, Reuben, founded in 1951 to cardboard packaging company that revolutionized the conditioning mainly of beverages such as milk and fruit juices.
