Spain: Injuries and arrests in protest of the miners

In clashes with police resulting in 76 slightly wounded, became the demonstration of tens of thousands of miners gathered in Madrid to protest the cuts in subsidies to the industry. Of those injured are 42 protesters, 33 policemen and one is a photojournalist. The protesters hurled stones at police, bottles and firecrackers, while Spanish authorities have used rubber bullets. Seven people were detained. Trade unions of miners believe that the reduction of state subsidies in 2/3, which grants to survive the industry will lead to collapse, eliminates 38 000 jobs and the devastation of cities in the north of Iberian country, which is the center of the coal mining industry.The Spanish prime minister said earlier that he will be cut by 3.5 billion budgets of the regions.
