7.0 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Turkey & Greece | 10 Killed, Dozens Injured In Turkey

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake shook Turkey, killing at least ten people and injuring dozens more.

According to media reports, the quake hit the Turkish city of Izmir with a magnitude of 7.0 on the rector scale.

According to the foreign news agency, the quake had a depth of 16.5 km and was felt on the west coast of Turkey. The tremors were also felt in Bulgaria and Greece.

After the quake, seawater entered residential areas in Izmir and along the Aegean coast.

Residents of the island of Samos have been urged to stay away from coastal areas as there is a risk of high waves as a result of the quake.

It should be noted that in 1999, an earthquake in Izmir, Turkey, killed about 17,000 people.
