China shows a glimpse of Wuhan's controversial laboratory

Chinese state media have glimpsed a laboratory that has been the center of various conspiracy theories about the corona virus, while China is trying to disprove claims that the center caused the global epidemic.

Ever since the corona virus came to light, China's Wuhan Institute of Virology has been the victim of various conspiracy theories.

US President Donald Trump and other US officials have repeatedly indicated that the corona virus may have leaked from the laboratory or was deliberately made in the same laboratory.

Scenes aired on Chinese CCTV are said to be the first time footage from inside the laboratory has been released. The footage shows the P4 Lab, which has been working on the most dangerous Class 4 virus since 2017.

The footage did not provide any information on how the laboratory works. Only the other side of the glass shows the situation inside the laboratory and the security protocol is the reason behind not taking the camera inside the laboratory.

"There were no accidents or leaks in the laboratory and no human infections,"

said Yuan Zeming, director of the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory, according to AFP.
The virus spread in the area from a nearby laboratory. As soon as people find out about the situation and know about the laboratory, these rumors will slowly die down.

Scientists say the virus, which was discovered in the Chinese city of Wuhan, spread from bats to other animals and from there to humans.
Chinese officials said at the start of the outbreak that the virus may have spread from a market in Wuhan where live and wild animals are sold, but no further confirmation has been reported.
The conspiracy theory that the virus was created in a laboratory has been on the Internet for months, and has since been debated by President Trump and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Australia and the United States have also called for an investigation into the outbreak.

The World Health Organization is sending a representative to China this weekend to launch an investigation into the virus.
