The Sheik Ahmad Maaz Al-Khatib and 'was elected President of the Doha national coalition of most of the members of the Syrian opposition. Born in Damascus, Sheikh Al-Khatib, 52, a moderate religious, left Syria about three months after he was arrested twice by the outbreak of the uprising against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad in March 2011.
