At least fifteen killed by exploding two car bombs in Baghdad


At least fifteen people were killed and fifty injured by exploding two car bombs in central Baghdad, police sources told Efe. The first car bomb exploded near a popular restaurant in the plaza of Al Andalus, while the second was driven by a suspected suicide bomber and exploded at the entrance to a police station in the Al Alauia, sources said. Several policemen were among those killed in two explosions in central Baghdad, which also caused damage to several vehicles and nearby buildings. In another development, Iraqi television presenter Anas Gazuan day life and lost three members of his family, one a baby, were injured in a gun attack at his home in Mosul, 400 kilometers north of Baghdad. Iraq is experiencing a spike in violence with frequent attacks on Shiite targets and security forces since the recall last December, U.S. troops and the issuance of an arrest warrant against the Sunni vice president Tareq al Hashemi.
