An Afghan military uniform killed three U.S. soldiers

A man wearing military uniform infiltrated Afghan NATO troops today, killing three U.S. soldiers in southern Afghanistan. It is the third attack against coalition forces by the insurgency in a week. The spokesman of Taliban rebels, Qari Yousef Ahmadi, said the attacker is called Asadullah and was a member of the Afghan police. He said that from his position this man had helped U.S. forces to train local police. He also said that after the attack joined the insurgent forces. Ahmadi's assertion seems to be true because a military source said: "The murderer had a close relationship with U.S. soldiers because he invited them to dinner and shot them." It is the third attack against coalition military that makes NATO so far this week. On Tuesday, two Afghan dressed in army uniform killed a U.S. soldier and wounded two others in the province of Paktia in the east. On Thursday, two attempted take down a group of NATO forces against a military base in eastern Afghanistan, but failed. So far this year, 30 coalition soldiers have been killed in 20 similar attacks, compared to 11 attacks with 20 deaths the previous year. In 2007 and 2008 there were a total of four attacks with four deaths. This is an unusual year for Afghans, and their own forces-police and military, are taking over security gradually, on the grounds that international forces are leaving the country. It is expected that in 2014 there are no more foreign troops, except in a U.S. military base.
