Yemen army resumes to al-Qaeda a third city in the South

Al Qaeda is losing ground in Yemen The army has recaptured the town of Chuqra, in the south. The central government thus takes control of almost all the province of Abyan, fell to al-Qaeda for over a year. For the terrorist organization is a major setback but it should not mean it disappears completely. It was the outcome of more than a month of reconquest. Returning Chuqra, the Yemeni army terminates one of the most cloudy episodes in the history of Yemen. For nearly a year, the Partisans of Sharia, an organization close to al-Qaeda, have mocked the central government. The Islamists had taken control of three towns: Zinjibar, Jaar and therefore, Chuqra. After the departure of Ali Abdullah Saleh, the new military command was determined to put an end to this humiliating and dangerous. The Army has forged new alliances with the tribes of South and with the support of Americans including drones, so she dropped one by one the Islamist strongholds. Jaar and Zinjibar were resumed early in the week.
