They are former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows; his number 2, Dan Scavino; former Pentagon Chief of Staff Kash Patel; and the controversial ideologist and former adviser Steve Bannon, who are scheduled for mid-October.

The commission, made up of a majority of Democratic congressmen and only two Republicans - Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger - who are at odds with Trump, thus takes another step forward in its investigations into the assault on Congress.
Last month, the commission already asked various government agencies for documents about what happened, including those from the White House regarding the movements and meetings that Trump held on January 6.
In a later statement, former President Trump said that the subpoenas were "harassment" and assured that he will dispute them so that those mentioned do not have to appear.

Meadows and Scavino presumably have information about Trump's actions on January 6 from his White House jobs, while Patel is aware of his communications with the Pentagon.
Bannon, for his part, was one of the instigators of January 6 as the key date for Trump to retain power despite losing the election to Democrat Joe Biden.
