The United Nations-recognized government in Libya (GNA) has condemned Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's warning of military intervention in Libya and warned that any such move would be considered a declaration of war

It should be noted that two days ago, Egyptian President General (Retd) Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had hinted that Egypt would intervene directly in Libya if pro-GNA forces advanced on the important city of Sirte

The Libyan government's statement added that direct intervention by Abdel Fattah al-Sisi or support for rebel leaders, armed militias or mercenaries was not acceptable under any circumstances.

A statement from Libya's presidential council said that countries supporting Khalifa Haftar were now talking of a political solution and negotiations after his defeat.

The council's statement added that the whole of Libya is a red line. This line cannot be made with statements but with the blood of martyrs.

Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Basha has said that it is unacceptable for us to harm the security of Egypt, but when it comes to defending our country, we are also ready for war.

Commander Haftar has the support of Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Russia. They attacked and captured the capital, Tripoli, in April 2019, but were unsuccessful.
