The death toll from the corona virus worldwide has risen to 267,771, with more than 3,870,958 infected

The United Nations said in a new appeal on Thursday that "4.7 billion is needed to save the lives of millions of people in poor countries and eradicate the virus"

Earlier, the United Nations called for 2 billion in global aid to fight the epidemic, according to AFP. Only 1 billion has been raised so far in response to the March 25 appeal.

The spread of the virus has been largely controlled in China and South Korea

But they did not give details. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has accused the World Health Organization of slow response to the epidemic, saying there was still a need for an investigation in China. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chenying told reporters in Beijing on Thursday that the World Health Organization (WHO) supports efforts to find the epicenter of the epidemic.
