Germans consider Merkel's health to be a private matter

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel owes the public no detailed information about their state of health. According to a survey, this is the opinion of a majority of Germans who find that the shivering attacks that have plagued the Chancellor for three weeks are their private affair. Merkel, who spent her last public appointment because of the attacks (see video above), always emphasizes that she is well, but that she follows the causes.

Merkel had suffered a shivering attack on a public appearance on Wednesday for the third time within three weeks. Afterwards she said: "I am very well." She was still "in a processing phase", this was "apparently not yet completed". "no need to worry."

Only AfD voters for public health information

The Germans believe her - and even more: 59 percent of respondents in a survey commissioned by the "Augsburger Allgemeine" the opinion that the state of health is a private matter of the Chancellor. Only 34 percent of respondents pleaded for public information. Only among the AfD voters prevails the view that Merkel should say publicly what they lack (64.5 percent).

Merkel is new that her body does not always do what the mind wants

In her almost 14-year chancellorship Merkel has already seen many crises - but that her body does not always do what the mind wants him is also soon 65 Year olds new. Even with her otherwise iron willpower, she has been unable to suppress cramps. One day after the recent attack on the side of Finn Antti Rinne, Merkel reacted pragmatically: When she received the Danish head of government Mette Frederiksen on Thursday, she simply had two chairs placed on the red pedestal for military honors.

"I have a great personal interest in being healthy."
She is "firmly convinced that I am well performing," Merkel tries to dispel doubts that she can still properly fill her position. She speaks of a "processing phase" of the tremor, which she suffered during the visit of the new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj on 18 June. But Merkel is afraid to admit that she was with the doctor. "that as a person I have a great personal interest in being healthy and respecting my health".
