Sundar Pichai director of Google in charge of Chrome and Android , opened the event in San Francisco today explaining that "we are living in a pivotal moment" in the history of the devices, which is leading multiscreen live in a world in where they live and interact smartphones, tablets, TV and PC. Pichai said: "Our aim is to provide a consistent experience across different screens", and in that regard, he stressed the centrality of Android and Chrome, as platforms to operate in these different screens, creating different experiences. He referred also to the growth of tablets, and said it was activated 70 million Android tablets. The Nexus 7 , in its first version, represented 10% of those tablets and Google hopes to replicate its success with its second generation, for which the association remained Taiwan's Asus , next to which was the first generation.
