Author of anti-Islam film will go on trial next week

The U.S. author of anti-Islam film Mark Basseley Yusef, 56, will have to attend a federal court in Los Angeles (USA) next week for a hearing. Mark was convicted in 2010 of bank fraud and have their conduct evaluated to see if he violated the conditions of his probation. With the production of the short film, 13 minutes long, the author satirizes the figure of the prophet Muhammad, a fact that raised the ire of Muslims around the world. Arab countries reproached the videos and people took to the streets to protest, triggering a series of anti-American attacks. Mark was arrested on Sept. 27 by U.S. agents and is accused by prosecutors of having violated the rules of his probation.
