The rebels are attributed the attack on the General staff in Dasmaco


The Group extremist 'Ansar al-Islam' (followers of Islam), belonging to the rebel army free SIRIUS (ELS), claimed responsibility for the attack perpetrated today against the headquarters of the State of the Syrian defence and in which killed four guards and 14 people were injured. In a statement released Wednesday, this radical Islamist group noted that one of its brigades executed the operation against the Government building, located in the center of Damascus. According to the State News Agency Sana, the massacre was perpetrated by two terrorist suicide bombers driving two car bombs. A military source quoted by the Agency, said that among the wounded there are military and civilians, and blamed the action to "armed terrorist groups", an expression that the Syrian regime used to refer to the rebels.
The explosions, which occurred shortly before 0700 local time (0400 GMT), also caused material damage at military headquarters and a fire in one of the wings of the building. After them, there were several minor explosions as well as an exchange of gunfire, several residents in the area they explained to Efe. This is the second time that this military headquarters, which is located in the Abu Rumaneh district, in the heart of Damascus, is target of an attack, after the perpetrated last September 2, which caused four injuries.
