Facebook photo makes man cause plane landing in the U.S.


A man who avenged his girlfriend by posting a photo on Facebook was charged on Friday for having a plane back to Philadelphia by lying saying there were explosives on board, officials said. Shortly after a U.S. Airways plane taking off on Thursday toward Dallas, Kenneth Smith, Jr., 26, called the police saying that the passenger Christopher Shell, 29, was with explosives. uthorities concluded that there was no hazardous material and that it was a hoax. According to an FBI agent, claimed that Smith made the call to avenge his girlfriend, who had published a photo on Facebook compromising the days when dating Shell. Smith, who lives in Philadelphia, faces up to ten years in prison and a fine up to take $ 250,000, plus possible damages, said Patricia Hartman, a representative of U.S. Airways. Shell, who lives in Philadelphia and did 29 years in own Thursday, was removed from the plane for clarification and was then released to continue its journey on another plane to Dallas. Although acquitted on the possession of explosives, Shell was arrested upon arriving in Dallas for marijuana possession.
