Iran introduced a new missile and announced the construction of an air defense base


Iran's government introduced a new type of short-range missile and announced the construction of an air defense base. With the presence of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi, was today the presentation ceremony of the fourth generation missile Fateh 110, which have a range of 300 kilometers. Ahmadinejad said the new missiles are defensive purposes only and should not be seen as a threat, but said that the new weapons will deter the powers of trying to impose its will on Iran. "Advances in defense aim to defend human integrity and are not offensive moves against others," the Iranian president said, according to Mehr news agency. "I have no doubt that our defenses are maintained and stop their plans," he said, without specifying the country of which he spoke. On the other hand, the Iranian government announced the creation of a new air defense base to be built in the region of Abadeh, in the south, about 210 kilometers from the central Isfahan uranium enrichment. The base, which will occupy 200 hectares, will be built by Khatam al Anbia, the engineering company of the Revolutionary Guards, and employ about 6,000 people, Fars news agency reported, according to Europa Press office. Tehran also presented a "flying laboratory" that will improve the take up of fighter jets, the generation of oxygen on the flight and train new military pilots.
