A British couple has two young children was the winner of the prize of 148.6 million pounds (U.S. $ 472 million), the second largest in the history of the Euromillions in the UK. Adrian Bayford, 41, who owns a music store, and his wife Gillian, who works at a hospital in Cambridge, received the news last Friday (10) at his home in Haverhill (Suffolk County, eastern England), while she tried to put children to sleep. "I was watching the news on TV when they announced the winner of Euromillions, but Gillian said that she had forgotten to buy the ticket," said Adrian, who, in turn, had remembered to bet. "Our children were awake and she tried to put them to sleep again, while I checked the numbers. As we saw they were coinciding, simply could not believe it", said the new millionaire. Adrian went to the bedroom to try to break the news to the woman, but she was careful not to wake the children. "I was trying to tell her that we had won the lottery, but she asked me to be quiet!" Recalled Adrian, laughing. The couple then spent the night calling family and searching the internet the best way to invest his fortune. Among his plans is to buy a new house, a car, traveling by train through the mountainous region of the U.S., take their children to Disney World and donate some money to charitable organizations. "It will be great to spend more time with family. The money arrived at the right time to benefit the whole family," said Gillian. The biggest prize ever won in Euromillions in the UK was 161 million pounds ($ 511 million) in July of the year pasado, by Colin Scottish couple and Chris Weir.
