24 people killed when their truck rolled over by a train in South Africa


At least 24 agricultural workers have died on Friday in the northeastern part of South Africa after the truck they were traveling was hit by a train at a level crossing, a new balance offered by local authorities. The regional police spokesman, Joseph Mabusa, explained that, according to preliminary investigations, the truck driver crossed the tracks thinking I had enough time to dodge the train, carrying coal to Mozambique. However, it was not and the train dragged the truck, which traveled aboard the workers who were to pick fruit, about 200 meters. The crash occurred in a rural area 400 kilometers east of Johannesburg. Mabusa has described as "horrific" scene, "with bodies without heads and members." Forensic teams have visited the area to investigate the incident and verify the exact number of deaths, since the state of some complicated bodies including the body count. Among the survivors of the incident shows the truck driver, moved to a nearby hospital with twenty other wounded. Local media have said that the driver can be charged with manslaughter or even murder. Last year, the driver of a minibus was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the deaths of ten children who were in the vehicle, which was hit by a train in Cape Town.
