Europe beats the record Wednesday cargo into space

The fourth vehicle supply the European Space Agency (ESA), the ATV-4 Albert Einstein, take off on Wednesday June 5 from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou (French Guiana) bound for the International Space Station . A board will more than 20,200 kilograms of cargo, making it the heaviest spacecraft ever launched by Europe. The launch is scheduled for 23:52 hours (GMT) on board the Ariane 5. Three hours later, the ATV will separate from the launcher and after ten days will reach the ISS and dock the orbital module in automatic coupling. So, until June 15 astronauts currently living in the ISS will not receive essential supplies such as water, gas, food and clothing.In addition, the ATV carrying the elements necessary for any repair of the station and to carry out scientific experiments in orbit. In this sense, the European company Astrium has developed the STEPS experiment whose objective is the study of the behavior of emulsions in zero gravity conditions . Emulsions have an important role in many industrial areas such as food production foodstuffs, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, and in the oil industry. But in addition to items shipped by ESA, for the Italian astronaut Luca Parmittano, the vehicle load objects station's international partners, and include elements for NASA and the Japanese space agency (JAXA)In total, more than 1,400 different items will be delivered to the space.
