Simulated Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz


The Iranian military simulated closing Hormuz and destroyed targets successfully programmed with self-produced missile Qader (land-sea) and Nour (ground-ground). As reported by the RT website, the artifacts are capable of hitting targets at a distance of about 200 kilometers, while a long-range missile has a maximum range of 13,000 kilometers, according to the international classification. Whereupon, most experts both complexes qualifies as short-range missiles, those who can reach a distance of between 150 and 800 kilometers. The naval commander Habibollah Sayyari said that the maneuvers will end on Wednesday and will also be developed in the Gulf of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean, according to official agency appropriated  Iranian news  IRNAThe intention of the maneuvers, according Sayyari, is to show the " military capability of the Armed Forces "and send a message of peace and friendship to neighboring countries. The  news portal  RT detailing the fleet participating in the maneuvers include various types of heavy and light submarines , logistic support vessels, ships and missile frigates and destroyers and Sabalan Alborz. In recent maneuvers, Velayat 90, held in December 2011, the Navy successfully tested its first stealth missile national development: Mehrab ('altar'). Much of the international community, with the United States and Israel to the head, believes that these maneuvers are a  show of force of the Iranian Navy, which has repeatedly warned it  will block the Strait  if further economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic over.
