Asia Cup 2012: Worst nightmare India won against Pakistan

India won against Pakistan by  6 wickets (with 13 balls remaining), bad performance by Pakistani team. Pakistan batting was much better than bowling, getting screwed bad. This is India's best chase in ODIs, beating their Natwest final heroics in 2002.

Asia Cup 2012: Pakistani batting seems to shine

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and decided to bat in last Asia Cup league match against arch-rivals India at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. India made one change in their playing eleven, replacing injured Ravindra Jadeja with Yusuf Pathan, while Pakistan brought Wahab Riaz in place of Sarfraz Ahmed. For Team India, it was supposed to be a stage rehearsal for the final, but not anymore. A defeat against Bangladesh has come as a shock for MS Dhoni and his boys and now they are up against a resurgent Pakistan looking for revenge. Pakistan have already secured a berth in the final with victories over Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and will be under less pressure unlike the Indians. It is the Pakistan bowling attack that is making them look formidable in this tournament. Umar Gul is the spearhead with some decent back-up in the form of Aizaz Cheema, who won the Man of the Match award against Sri Lanka. The Indians, on the other hand, have to quickly sort out their bowling woes as any mistake could see the team bowing out of the tournament. The teams have met in two crucial encounters in the last two years (World Cup semifinal in 2011 and Asia Cup in 2010), and India have triumphed on both occasions. But this time, Pakistan hold the aces.

Asia Cup 2012: Father of All Matches Pakistan vs India

The two Asian giants will clash in a match of Asia Cup in Mirpur, Bangladesh today. Stung by the upset defeat against minnows Bangladesh, India will be under immense pressure when they go into their must-win last Asia Cup league match against arch-rivals Pakistan, also tournament’s favourite, on Sunday with bowling in the slog overs continuing to be a big worry. The Indians have no option but to put it across their traditional rivals to stay alive in the tournament as the shock defeat against Bangladesh has thrown their campaign into jeopardy. The stunning defeat against Bangladesh would have certainly hurt the Indians, especially Sachin Tendulkar whose phenomenal feat of scoring the 100th international ton went in vain. But they have to regroup quickly and put the debacle behind them. Pakistan, on the other hand, have already secured a berth in the final with victories over Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and will be under less pressure unlike the Indians. Stung by the upset defeat against minnows Bangladesh, India will be under immense pressure when they go into their must-win last Asia Cup league match against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday with bowling in slog overs continuing to be a big worry. India have no option but to put it across their traditional rivals to stay alive in the tournament as Friday’s shock defeat against Bangladesh has thrown their campaign into jeopardy. The stunning defeat against Bangladesh would have certainly hurt the Indians, especially Sachin Tendulkar whose phenomenal feat of scoring 100th international ton went in vain. Strike in Karachi against extortion

Strikes not only affect the economy of any country but also they paralyze the social activities of the country. Karachi, the financial hub of Pakistan, keeps facing the same situation as the whole city is engulfed with shutter down strike in a few seconds without any reason and it feels that there are indissoluble links between Karachi and strikes for a long time. The most disgusting things on strikes are to damage or harm public transport and property that are set on fire to ensure the success of the strikes. The city from where 80 percent of exports of various products are made and that generates about 70 percent of the country’s total revenue has been handed over to miscreant political outfits and the future of Karachi is at the mercy of them and surely at a risk!. Sindh government has failed to ensure peaceful business environment for better economy in Karachi. The industrial zone had to previously suffer a loss of Rs 350 million to Rs 400 million on account of the strike. The situation should be handled seriously and responsibly whereas strike that paralyze the whole city , threatening to lives and public property should be accounted as a crime and the political parties or anyone that calls for the strike should be dealt with strictly. The city administration and federal Government have to be efficient on the issue and strike should be banned like pillion riding in order to develop Karachi!

Twin explosion in Syria

Two "terrorist explosions" struck security targets in the Syrian capital Saturday morning, killing a number of civilians and security forces, the country s state news agency said. A separate report said at least 27 people were killed in the explosions. The report said preliminary reports indicated they blasts were caused by car bombs that hit the aviation intelligence department and the criminal security department. One year into the Syrian revolt, the fight to oust President Bashar Assad is transforming into a nascent civil war. Syria has seen a string of suicide bombings, the last major one on Feb. 10, when twin blasts struck security compounds in the government stronghold city of Aleppo, killing 28 people. Damascus, another Assad stronghold, has seen three suicide previous bombings since December. The regime has touted the attacks as proof that it is being targeted by "terrorists." The opposition accuses forces loyal to the government of being behind the bombings to tarnish the uprising. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the explosions. The U.N. estimates that more that 8,000 people have been killed since the uprising against Assad began last March. In recent weeks, Syrian forces have waged a series of heavy offensives against the main strongholds of the opposition
Homs in central Syria, Idlib in the north and Daraa in the south. In the assaults, the regime has seemed to depend on select units and has relied heavily on the minority Alawite sect, to which Assad and the ruling elite belong. That may be out of worries over signs that some Sunni army conscripts have refused to fire on civilians. Sunnis are the majority in the country of 22 million and make up the backbone of the opposition.
