Pakistan l Peshawar airport under attack

Suicide bombers armed with rockets attacked the military side of a Pakistani airport in the northwestern city of Peshawar Saturday, killing four civilians and wounding more than 30, officials said. Five militants also were killed. Earlier three loud explosions were reported from different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's capital, but later they turned out to be rocket fire near airport. Heavy gunfire erupted after a third explosion inside the airport on top of two earlier rocket attacks. None of the rockets landed inside the main airport area, which is jointly used by civilian authorities and the air force. No militants were able to enter the airport, said the air force in a statement sent to reporters. No air force personnel were injured and none of their planes were damaged.
