Syria l An unknown number of dead after an explosion in Damascus


An explosion on Tuesday caused an unknown number of deadand wounded in the neighborhood Al Wurud Damascus, said the Syrian official news agency, Sana, while a competing group increased to ten the deceased. The source blamed "terrorists" for the incident and said the area was packed with people at the time of the attack, which occurred a day after an explosion that will kill eleven people in the capital. For its part, the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement that at least 10 people died and over 40 were injured, several of them serious. According to this group, three bombs exploded Al Wurud in Al Zahara Square, around which dwellings are members of the Republican Guard. At Wurud is a popular neighborhood inhabited mostly by Syrians from coastal areas, which are mainly Alawite confession, the same as Syrian President Bashar Assad , according to data from the Observatory. In the last few hours there have been bombings in Damascus and its surroundings. According to opposition groups, a car bomb exploded today in the Sayida Zeinab mosque near Uis, causing no casualties. In addition, at least 11 people were killed and dozens more wounded in an explosion in the residential area of Al Mezze , southwest of Damascus. Since the start of the conflict in March 2011, there have been numerous explosions and attacks, mostly in Damascus , from which the regime has always blamed "terrorists", as referred to the armed opposition.
