"Golden prison, with seven rooms and gardens"


controversy erupted Thursday in Peru on prison conditions of former President Alberto Fujimori and his request for clemency humanitarian  claiming worsening health conditions in prison, after the press published photographs that reveal the living comfort.

The daily La República , Diario 16 and The First referred as "golden prison, with seven rooms and gardens"  to environments that are available to Fujimori, of 74 years , on the basis of the Police Special Forces in Lima , where he is serving since 2009 a 25-year sentence for crimes against humanity .

In the 25 photos released, can see a bathroom equipped with a heated toilet , akitchen equipped with refrigerator, microwave and laundry , a doctor  and objects as a TV and an easel to paint , among other objects.

The Prime Minister, Juan Jimenezavoided prison review alleged benefits of Fujimori, but told reporters that " the Presidential Commission of Grace will visit  the prison to see if the conditions "of life of former President affect your health.

On October 10, the four children of Fujimori , Keiko, Kenji, Sachi and Hiro , delivered a humanitarian pardon request  on the grounds that his father suffers from a cancer that threatens his life in prison.
 

"This committee , in charge of assessing humanitarian clemency requests , has to verify whether the conditions of detention of Fujimori harm health, "the Peruvian Prime Minister.

The photos show "that Fujimori's prison status is above the standard of any prisoner , "said the anti-corruption prosecutor , July Arbizú, opposed the pardon.

Congressman and youngest son of the former president, Kenji Fujimori , denied Wednesday detractors versions of his father on "golden prison" and even showed a level of 14 m2 cell that occupies his father.

The son of the former president emphasized that " loneliness, which is stressful and aggravates the disease ", is the main problem I have Fujimori.

Recent polls indicate that a slight majority of Peruvians would support a pardon , requested in October.

Fujimori ruled between 1990 and 2000 and during his tenure faced tough to Sendero Luminoso .
