A Tibetan farmer commits suicide in China burn to bonzo


A Tibetan farmer died on Friday night to burn to bonzo in western Chinese province of Qinghai , bringing to 81 the total immolation occurred in the past two years, as reported by the official Xinhua news agency today. The farmer, named Dazheng (many Tibetan names consist only of a word) and 27 years , caught fire at 20:30 hours in the village of Dageri, the Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. In this case rise to 81 the immolations have taken place in Tibetan-populated areas in western China, allegedly carried out to pressure the communist government to allow the return of the Dalai Lama or expand the cultural freedom and religion of the inhabitants of this ethnic group. The frequency of these protests has intensified in recent weeks, to the point that in the last two weeks has occurred a case daily average (just 18 in 17 days). Tibetan exile organizations like Free Tibet warn of the "tense situation" in the region, where they say that there are currently deployed "a large number of Chinese armed forces" and that there may be clashesThese organizations want Beijing to address the demands of the Tibetans to stop the wave of immolations, while the Communist regime accuses the Dalai Lama, whom yesterday was denied entry visa to Taiwan, to encourage these protests political purposes. China considers Tibet part of the country for centuries, by dynastic marriages and conquests in the imperial era, although for Tibetans in exile the 'Roof of the World' was virtually independent until it was occupied by the Red Army in the early 50s of last century.
