NATO suspends training of Afghan troops to attack 'fratricidal'

NATO has temporarily suspended the training of recruits in Afghanistan because of increased Taliban infiltration of local security forces, as reported by a spokesman for the international military organization.NATO's decision follows that of the U.S. military, which has decided to stop training the Afghans to 27,000 soldiers who trains until they check if they have ties to the insurgency, as reported in today's edition of The Washington Post. The fratricidal attacks perpetrated by insurgents infiltrated the Afghan security forces are the cause of 14% of casualties among Allied troops in 2012. "We have temporarily suspended the training of recruits to investigate the links between insurgents and soldiers. We are very concerned about recent attacks," said a spokesman for the NATO mission in Afghanistan, James Graybal. Graybal has stated that "the rest of our cooperation with Afghan security forces remains the same." Nearly fifty NATO soldiers were shot dead by Afghan soldiers so far this year, which has raised the alarm over command of the international organization. In the latest such incident, a man wearing Afghan army uniform killed Wednesday dead three Australian soldiers in Uruzgan province in southern Afghanistan. The increase in such cases this week forced Afganitán president, Hamid Karzai, to dismiss the head of the Afghan intelligence service, Rahmatulá Nabil, whom local media blamed for infiltrations. + Nabil's dismissal was preceded in August by the holders of Defense Abdul Rahim Wardak and Interior Bismulah Mohammadi, in the renewal of the dome of the local security apparatus by the increasing violence in the country.
