Cargo plane hits minibus and leaves ten dead in Ghana


Ten people died in the crash of a cargo plane, on Saturday night near the airport in Accra, capital of Ghana, said a military official. "The phone fell in the stadium Elwak, killing several people," said the official, who asked not to be named, calculated by ten the number of deaths. According to the official, the plane could not have landed on the runway, hitting a minibus. The four crew members, including the two pilots survived and were treated at the infirmary of the airport. The emergency services, police and firefighters cordoned off the crash site. The cargo plane, coming from Lagos, "was the track and fell near the stadium Elwak, reaching a minibus, killing ten people," said the airport authority. The toll was confirmed by a senior military. "I had finished my work and came home on foot, in the rain, when I saw the plane hit the minibus and its passengers," said the witness Kofi Anor. The wreckage of the plane, a Boeing 727 company Allied Air, could be seen near the airport, with the back and wings torn off, along with the hardware of the minibus. The vice-president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama said at the airport that will open an investigation.
