Another suicide bomber blew himself up in Syria: seven casualties and 100 injured

Seven people died and hundreds were injured in a suicide bombing that struck the city of Deir Ezzor in eastern Syria on Saturday, said a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry. The attack occurred in the neighborhood Masaken Ghazi Ayyach and was carried out with "500 kilos of explosives," said Jihad Makdisi in his Twitter account. A group of UN observers inspected the site of the attack, said Makdisi. "A terrorist suicide bomber drove a car bomb that exploded in the neighborhood Masaken Ayyach Ghazi" , had previously stated on state television. "The residential buildings and public and private facilities near the site of the terrorist attack suffered major damage," television had reported no account of casualties. The blast occurred on a street where are the headquarters of military intelligence and aerial military hospital, said for his part, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH). Images broadcast on official television channel showed buildings and cars destroyed, a large crater and traces of blood on the street. This is the first attempt of its kind in this city, where authorities had said on Friday it had foiled a project car bombing. Several deadly attacks rocked the capital of Damascus and Aleppo , the second largest city, since the beginning of the rebellion against the dictatorial regime of President Bashar al-Assad in March 2011. On 10 May, a double attack had caused the deaths of 55 people in Damascus. Most attacks were claimed by dark factions, such as Facing Nusra. On Thursday, the UN secretary general, Ban Ki- moon, attributed to al Qaeda network responsible for the recent attacks in Syria. In other regions there were explosions and attacks that caused several casualties, according to the OSDH. In Duma, near the capital region, there was a loud explosion and the province of Aleppo, the seat of the ruling Baath party was attacked with an RPG anti-tank rocket shot. In Idleb , northwest of the country, insurgents attacked a troop carrier rocket, causing deaths and injuries, and destroyed three military vehicles in fighting near the Turkish border. Violence continues in Syria despite the presence of 260 observers in the country to supervise the truce instituted on 12 April.
